By purchasing a geckos from Troy’s Geckos, you agree to all terms and conditions. Holds and deposits are counted as purchases, and come with an agreement of accepting our terms and conditions.

Long-term payment plans are generally not accepted, but may be discussed on case-by-case
basis; please contact us to discuss. Once a commitment to purchase an animal has been received,
full payment is required within 48 hours unless we agree to a written, alternative arrangement.

At our discretion, we will place a gecko on a 48-hour courtesy hold with a non-refundable down
payment. All down payments and/or deposits are considered non-refundable unless expressed in
writing as otherwise. If the prospective buyer does not send the remaining payment within 48
hours of a written request to purchase the gecko, it will be relisted and the buyer forfeits (loses)
the deposit. We consider no animal “sold” until full payment has been accepted and received.

All animals must be paid for in full before delivery. In addition, animals must generally be paid for in full to hold them for delivery until appropriate, safe shipping weather is available (unless an alternative arrangement is agreed to in writing). Note: we will confirm the buyer’s shipping address (including FedEx hub location for pick-up) and any special (and feasible) shipping instructions when the initial purchase is made and before the animal is shipped. It is the buyer’s responsibility to provide clear, complete, accurate shipping information, including any special instructions, and to confirm/correct the shipping address if given the opportunity to prior to shipment. Shipping is done through FedEx Priority Overnight/Reptile2you (or similar). Please note that shipping fees include the cost of the shipment, insulated box, and any additional packaging materials necessary (unless stated otherwise). If shipping is paid for by the buyer and buyer subsequently decides to pick-up the gecko in person instead, partial refund of shipping costs may be issued based solely at our discretion. These carriers generally deliver packages by 10:30am. Please be advised that this can vary and shipments may be delivered later than 10:30am depending on how far the package must travel from the FedEx hub. If you live in an area that requires an extended delivery time, please notify me before the package is sent. Note that most hubs provide the option to “hold for customer” where the package will be held until the receiver comes to the location to retrieve it. This is a highly recommended and is the only way we provide any guarantees on live arrival or health. We are NOT responsible for shipping carrier delays or other carrier issues and any negative consequences that may be caused by such.
Shipping is available to the continental 48 United States. Please contact us if you are located outside of the continental 48 US states for permission before agreeing to purchase any geckos. In person pick-up on Long island, New York or local shows that we attend is strongly encouraged and may get you priority in the purchase of a gecko for which there are multiple buyers. Please contact us to discuss further. If we make arrangements for in-person pick-up and the buyer “no shows”, as defined as not showing up at the agreed upon meeting place within 30 minutes of the expected meeting time and without reasonable notice, buyer may forfeit up to 100% of the payment made for the gecko and delivery and the animal will be relisted for sale. If a buyer encounters unforeseen circumstances related to an animal pick-up, please notify us immediately via email, text message, or phone call (and voicemail message if call is not answered).
If gecko is not shipped out within 8 weeks of purchase date, Troy's Geckos reserves the right to charge $5.00 per week for care of animal until delivery is made (even if it is delayed for weather-related concerns) to cover costs related to care, food, supplies, etc. Failure to pay fees prior to shipment may result in refund of payment net-of-care and transaction costs and the gecko will be relisted publicly for sale.

Excluding any delays on behalf of the shipping carrier or unforeseen circumstances by the
buyer/receiver, we provide guarantee live arrival for each animal that we sell if the animal is
delivered to a FedEx hub for pick-up on first attempt and on-time by its carrier service and we
are notified in writing (e.g., text message, email, etc.) within 20 minutes of the animal being
delivered of it being received and its condition (including pictures of any significant issues or
concerns).

We will provide a 48 hour health guarantee on any animal if the animal is delivered on first
attempt by its carrier service to a FedEx hub for pick-up and we are notified in writing (e.g., text
message, email, etc.) within 20 minutes of the animal being delivered of it being received and its
condition (including pictures of any issues or concerns). (We must be notified with evidence in
writing within 48 hours of your receipt of the gecko of the health concern.) This period begins
once the package is delivered by the shipping carrier and is only valid if the animal was received
as expected [i.e., no shipping delays and gecko was delivered on first delivery attempt by carrier
to the FedEx hub for pick-up and picked up within one (1) hour of arrival at the FedEx
hub and buyer notifies us via email, text message, or phone call (and voicemail message if call is
not answered) that the animal has been received]. This guarantee does not cover damage or
injuries incurred once the box has been delivered including, but not limited to: dehydration,
burns, hypothermia, drowning, choking, or from an accident. This guarantee does not cover tail
loss. We do not offer a health guarantee for animals picked-up at the Reptile Expo. We believe
the buyer has sufficient time and attention to properly inspect the animal prior to purchase at a
Reptile Expo (or picked up in person) and there are too many factors that can negatively effect
the animal after it leaves our hands at the Reptile Expo.

The gender/sex of a juvenile (i.e., non-adult) gecko is not guaranteed (generally less
than 40 grams); we use a commonly used pore sexing technique that is often, but not always
accurate.

We can often hold animals until daytime and overnight shipping temperatures are within the
preferred 45 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit range (at the destination, departure, and transfer hub
locations).
Color:
Color is not guaranteed upon arrival. Geckos can change colors, at times dramatically,
throughout their life. We do our best to provide an accurate, visual representation when posting
our geckos for sale. Please note, though, that these pictures represent their coloration at one
distinct point in time (that is, the time at which the picture is taken). If more pictures are needed
for you to feel comfortable purchasing the gecko of your choice, please let us know and we will
try out best to comply. However, please note that pictures take time to process and another buyer
may jump ahead of you and purchase the animal before additional photos can be taken,
uploaded, organized, cropped, and sent.

If the buyer changes his or her mind on a sale after sending a payment, we reserve the right to keep up to a 50% non-refundable portion of the purchase price. We reserve the right, at our discretion, to refund all or part of the payment received for a gecko and relisting the gecko for sale if we feel that the buyer is being unreasonable over a prolonged period in their availability to safely receive the gecko (unsafe weather conditions excluded). If a female gecko, such as a Chahoua, lays eggs prior to shipping and arrives at her new owner with a tail that is wavy, that is not considered a defect and is not a valid reason to request a refund. (This can happen, especially with the added stress of transport via mail service, and calcium supplementation generally corrects this issue.) This occurrence will be mentioned, when possible, ahead of time, and may be discussed on a case-by-case basis. If a buyer receives an animal and feels that he or she is entitled to a refund, we will discuss any concerns within one (1) hour of the animal being delivered by the shipping carrier. For this refund policy to be valid, all of the following conditions must be met: The receiver must have been onsite at the address provided to receive the package directly from the shipping carrier. If a signature is required, it must have been completed upon first delivery attempt/within one (1) hour of the animal arriving at the FedEx hub. The package must have been delivered to a FedEx shipping location and held there for pick-up. The package cannot have been left exposed or outside for any length of time. The buyer must have notified me as soon as he/she noticed something of concern. The buyer is responsible for return shipping charges, as well as charges back to their address if a replacement animal is deemed appropriate. Refunds are subject to questions about the buyer’s husbandry practices as well as photo or video proof of injury, death or the area of concern. In cases where the animal dies, we may request that the specimen is returned to us. If we agree to a refund of any kind, it will be provided in the form of a credit towards a future purchase only.

If we are holding an animal (or animals) in our care for any reason, including, but not limited to
an ongoing payment plan or because weather is not within the acceptable range for shipping, we
maintain the right to claim any eggs laid during the hold period. This qualifies even if the
gecko(s) have/has been paid for in full. Prices paid are for the geckos listed for sale only and do
not include offspring or eggs.

Troy’s Geckos must collect New York State sales tax for purchases delivered to a location in
New York State. By agreeing to make a purchase, including but not limited to, sending payment
to Troy’s Geckos, you are agreeing that you are responsible for any/all applicable state/local
sales tax charges, which will be calculated and may be billed to you after you checkout but prior
to delivery. Any other applicable taxes will be collected when and where appropriate.

Yes, we do ship geckos within the Continental 48 United States (international buyers, please
contact us to discuss options for international shipping) when the weather is appropriate
(generally between 45 degrees and 85 degrees Fahrenheit at the destination, departure, and
transfer hub locations). Shipping charges are generally $65 - $95, depending on the size of the
box and its travel distance (from the Northeast).
